Vice President & Ambassador Club Director
Alice (Koehler) Tatro is a native of Geneva, NE. She graduated from Geneva High School in 1964. Alice was married to Ronald Tatro and was a farm wife for the first twenty-two years of her married life. The Tatroís have four daughters; Leann Dockins, Laura Gestring, Allison Jensen, and Andrea Perrin in addition to nine grandchildren.
Alice began her employment at Heartland Bank in 1986 as a part-time teller. In March of 1989 Alice, along with Hugh Wilkins and Paulette Wise, attended a training seminar in Charles City, IA to start a Seniorís Club for the bank. The Ambassador Club began in June of that year and has been going strong for 23 years. The club now has over 1,100 members in the bankís six locations.
Alice served as Marketing Officer for over ten years and was chosen as an Operation Able Employee of the Year for the State of Nebraska. She served on the School Board for two terms, the Farmerís and Rancherís College Board for 10 years and was elected to the first Advisory Board for Heritage Clubs International. She has been active in the First Congregational United Church of Christ and in the community.
Teller & Ambassador Club Assistant
Sheila Smith grew up in Perry, Missouri (Mark Twain Country). After graduating from Mark Twain High School, she was employed by Perry Machine & Die where she served as Quality Control Supervisor. She moved to Geneva in 2001 and began working at Hiltyís Grocery Store in addition to working some nights and weekends at the Heartland Boys Home.
Sheila began her employment at Heartland Bank in 2002 as a teller. She started a new adventure in 2004, becoming Alice Tatroís assistant for the Ambassador Club.
For six years Sheila has been active on the Fillmore County Extension Board and helps with the 4-H livestock sale. She is a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Geneva.
Sheila has two daughters, Tiya Johnson and Tara Barton, and three grandchildren. Sheila and her husband, Vic, live in Shickley.
Teller & Ambassador Club Coordinator
Julie ( Sypherd ) Dodson grew up in Hastings, NE. After graduating from Hastings High School she moved to Columbus, NE.
Her banking career started in 1983 for Citizen Bank and Trust. In 1994 she moved back to Hastings and continued in the banking industry. She began her employment with Heartland Bank in 2008 as a teller and Ambassador Club Coordinator.
For 38 years she has been a member of P.E.O. Chapter DA. She is a member of the Grace United Methodist Church. Julie has two children, Shane McCoy and Shannon McCoy, and 2 granddaughters. Julie and her husband, Robert, live in Hastings.
